I’m walking 13.3miles from 1 Angel Square to Rochdale Pioneers Museum to tackle loneliness withthe Co-op and the British Red Cross.
Loneliness is indiscriminate - it affects people of all ages andbackgrounds and can be found in all types of communities. It can lead to asense of despair, and emotional and mental health problems such as depressionand anxiety. In fact, it’s reported to be twice as bad for our health asobesity.
Each year, the British Red Cross supports over one million people in theUK. The charity is present in all UK communities, providing unquestioning careand support to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Together the Co-operative and British Red Cross will deliver radical andlasting change to support those experiencing loneliness across the UK.Together, we will provide vital support to the lonely and isolated,reconnecting them to their communities and providing life changing care intheir homes.
