Around 1998 I was diagnosed with ADHD , at the time the support was non existent. I struggled for years ruining my relationships with family, friends, school, then later work etc not understanding why these things were happening to me. I spent my life "winging it" and scraping by for years always in fear that it would all collapse and people would see my failings, I wouldnt be able to hide and blend in like I always had. When i finally hit rock bottom after a series of events and felt no one was around to help or willing to try to understand my situation, I became depressed and a very negative person.What i had always feared had finally materialized.If it wasnt for Addiss hearing my cries for help on social media in 2012, I would probably be in a lot worse a situation. Since then, the support from Addiss i have received has given the confidence to help myself and get myself into a position where im able to manage my condition, feel i have somewhere that my difficulties are understood and have opportunity to meet others with similar situations which helps people feel they are not struggling alone. Im doing this abseil as I feel I should do something in return for all the help ive received from them,aswell as help to create an opportunity for others to continue getting the help that has helped me drastically improve my life.
