Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi everyone, I’m Christine (Chris) Jarvis of Sawston Parish. I have only been here for one year, moving from Devon in 2010 to be near my daughter, Anna and her family.
Following a double knee replacement in mid 2007 I visited Nepal in October 2008 with Anna. It left me captivated with the people, culture and country, however, having lost some of my former mobility I decided to build my strength up in my legs before returning to trek through the rugged Himalayan countryside. I just had to return.
So last year I did a trek with a friend, Joanne, half my age, to Poon Hill rising to 10,000ft in the Himalayas and raised a considerable sum for my Parish in Exmouth.
This year Jo and I are attempting to trek to the base camp of Mount Everest, 17,000ft from Lukla, stopping at tea houses and villages on the way up. We shall have two acclimatisation days en route. It’s a 17 day trek there and back and we fly out on 6 November 2011 and hoping to return in time for my 73 birthday in December!
Like last year, we shall also have a three day safari in the Chitwan jungles.
We wish to raise money for charity, and I would like to raise money for the OWL organisation and would be very grateful for any contributions to this cause.
Thanks for donating... will update you with my journey soon.
Chris
