Hi All

I think everyone who I have sent this too will have by now figured out that I am training for the Ironman Switzerland event this July. In fact many of you will be sick of hearing about it I'm sure. It has, to date, seen me running in the snow, hunting for hills with my bike and swimming countless lengths in the pool in a bid to condition what is a less than temple like physique. The distances involved are a 3.8km swim, a 180km cycle and a mere 42km run all to be completed in under the 17 hour cut off!

All this personal effort is in a bid to complete what I once thought unacheivable for just a mere mortal like myself, and over the time I have come to realise that we are all capable of much more than we believe. I want to get round for my own personal reasons but would also like to add to that a charitable endeavour whereby my sweat and pain brings something to others who are not always given the recognition and support they deserve!

Help for Heroes is a fantastic charity that brings a lot to a proportion of the forces that really need the extra. With that in mind please give as little or as much as you feel you can. As is always true with these things even giving a little bit will add up to a lot if everyone does!

I can promise to anyone who donates a top knotch race report which will highlight every twinge and gruelling detail of my first Ironman. Thank you to all that donate and hope you enjoy watching me groan my way through the aches and pains of training!
