On 21st May I'll set off in a yacht with three others to sail round the coast of Britain - Scotland, England and Wales. We are leaving from Inverkip marina on the Clyde, sailing clockwise and hoping to do the journey in 5 - 6 weeks. We hope to make several stops on our 2000 mile journey, especially the Orkney and Scilly Isles. I have never undertaken a voyage of this length and complication and am wondering how my stomach and companions will cope.

It's been suggested that I might do this for charity so I am hoping to raise some money for Myeloma UK in memory of my wife Rosie. Multiple Myeloma is a kind of bone cancer for which there is as yet no cure and about which much research needs to be done.
