Story
So....in a relatively shortish time I will be turning 40. I actually need to turn 39 yet (but no one makes a big deal about that). I am sure there will be parties and various other things going on in the next year as many friends will be doing the same (please invite me to your parties!), but I have decided to mark my Big 40 with a bit of a challenge.
In March I decided that I would attempt to run a half marathon every month until I turn 40 on 28th June 2014. I was already signed up for a couple so, I figured I might as well carry on... which means 16 half marathons in total.
I hope my challenge will inspire you to consider going for a run - (want to join me?) but if not, how about handing over your hard-earned cash and help support vulnerable children who need our help.
So far I have run:
17 March 2013 - Colchester half marathon (1 hour 54)
14 April 2013 - East London half marathon (1 hour 56)
19 May 2013 - Gt Baddow 10 miles (1 hour 20) so I ran Alton Waters - on my own (2 hours 6 mins)
9 June 2013 - South End haf marathon -
July - Dartford or Wimbledon
August - unknown
22 September 2013 - Ipswich Half
20 October 2013 - Birmingham Half
November - Norwich or Uxbridge
December - Ashford
January - unknown
February - unknown
March - Fleet
April - Richmond
May - unknown
June - unknown
I will be updating this page after each race with photos and may be a few comments...
Caveat: Due to family commitments, the races need to be close to London/Ipswich/Birmingham (where I have babysitters!) so if I cannot find an appropriate race, I will run 13.1 miles on my own - or try to rope in Vicky Presland to push me a long.
