Hello, Yes it’s real, I am doing the London Marathon.
It’s been on my “to do” list for a long long time, and having watched it from the comfort of the sofa for many years saying “one day I’ll run it”, i’ve finally decided to get off the sofa and get it done. Inspired by my girls, and in no small part by my Dad, who ran it last year for the first time in his 60’s!!
But, I need your help!
In 2005, when she was just 3 weeks old, my daughter Amelia was diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis. It was, without question, the worst moment of Louise and my life. Something that was totally unexpected and we were largely unprepared for. The first 2/3 days were a nightmare, however, after 2 weeks of fantastic dedicated care at , Millie made a full recovery, and thankfully, she did not experience any after effects of the infection.
We know how lucky she was to be both diagnosed very early, and to have experienced no after effects. We also know that many other children and families will not be as fortunate as us.
This is why I will be running the on behalf of The Meningitis Trust.
And this is where you can help me.
The Trust have set me a target of £1500. This seems like such a lot of money, but with the help of my friends and family, every single donation of any amount will bring the total closer, and your money will help improve the lives of those who have been affected.
So, dig deep please and give whatever you feel you can.
Keep dropping in as I’ll be updating with my progress. And give me a beep if you see me out and about on a run.
Keep smiling.
Chris
