Story

Whilst Steve led Martha through 28 countries, raising an incredible £120,000 for three charities - and bagging the Guinness World Record - I have set myself the equally difficult goal of the 26.2 miles that is the 2012 London Marathon! As you may know FTFE was created in memory of our Dad Garth who we lost to cancer and I will therefore be running for one of our three charities, the Roy Castle Foundation. When I set myself this goal in a moment of madness and bravado some 7 months ago, 26.2 miles felt like the 26,200 odd miles our fire engine covered across the world. So after losing over 2 stone, completing 120 odd training runs and a thousand miles later I am now just a few months away from the big day. I appreciate that many of you have already been insanely generous and donated to FTFE but if you can dig deep just one more time it will be incredible to raise a few more pounds for this fantastic cause.....plus of course you get to experience the sheer comical value of seeing me in the marathon complete with comedy headband. That must be worth something yeah?! I do know it would have made my Dad giggle!
