TinyLife is Northern Ireland's premature and vulnerable baby charity dedicated to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in babies. TinyLife provides families with emotional and practical support, funds vital research, provides parent support groups and assists with other resources and information for families. 

We became aware of Tiny Life through our own experiences earlier this year. Our twin sons Eoin & Conor McGinley were born on 4th July 2010, 14 weeks premature. The onset of early labour was a direct result of a complication called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) .  

TTTS is a complication that occurs only in identical twins and results in one identical twin receiving a less than normal blood supply during pregnancy while the other receives too much.  There are degrees to the severity of the syndrome, but it is always life-threatening and treatment options are unfortunately limited. Despite the very best efforts of the Doctors and Medical staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, Eoin passed away later that day, 4th July. Conor passed away on the 5th July.  

To commemorate their brief time with us and in an effort to provide some much needed funding and promote awareness of the great work that Tiny Life and their partner organisations perform, we are doing a sponsored walk on Saturday 27th November. The walk will start at Newry and follow along the Newry Tow Path (further details to follow). If you would like to participate on the day and help us raise some money we would be delighted to welcome you for what we hope will be an enjoyable day out.
