Thanks for taking the time to visit Chris Picton's JustGiving page.
This is his inspirational story...
Five years ago Chris Picton cheated death. He had a 120 mile per hour impact collision which left him unable to walk speak and remember his past. To mark the five year anniversary of the car crash that left him with a crushed skull and 10 years memory loss, 31 year old, Chris from Craven Arms in Shropshire is taking part in a skydive to raise money for people who are recovering from similar injuries.
The money raised will go towards various charities: Megan Baker (ASK CHRIS) etc. “
“Without the support of these amazing charities I would not have learnt to walk and talk again” he says “ let alone take this giant leap”.
Chris was a self confessed “adrenaline junky” before his accident. He worked at an outward bound centre in Craven Arms and free climbing was one of his favourite past times. One evening in October 2006 he had a head on collision that would change his life forever. He died 3 times on the operating table and after months and months of rehabilitation he is making wonderful progress with his walking, speech and confidence.
“Not only do I want to raise money” he says “I want to give hope to others, (and their families), who have suffered similar accidents. I want them to see that there is hope and recovery is possible”. Chris wants to raise money for the places that helped him recover.
According to the charity, Headway, the brain injury association: 1,000,000 people a year in the UK suffer brain injury and %50 of these due to road traffic accidents.
