Update post event - A big thank you to all who have supported me throughout and after the charity ride. Its overwhelming how generous people can be even in these austere times - I'm still getting donations now!

I managed 358 miles, averaging 70 miles a day, the longest day involved the ferry crossing, started at 0900 and finished about 2030. 10 miles from the finish we encountered a down pour of hurricane proportions but it did nothing to dampen the spirits when we saw the welcome party at The Admiral Wells. Copius amounts of alcohol later I managed to cycle back home only to fall over in the dining room and burble incoherently to the wife before collapsing into bed with my cycle shirt still on!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 14th Sept 2011 I intend to cycle from Paris ( Yes France!) to the lowest pub in England, The Admiral Wells, Holme, Cambs. The journey should take 5 days, includes visits to some Allied Forces War Grave Cemetries, passes through the Somme and ends with a fundraising family day including hog roast at the pub.

I am taking this opportunity to raise funds for Cancer Research UK in memory of my Grandfather Winston and my wifes Father Charlie both of whom fought in and survived World War 2 only to succumb to bowel cancer, the 3rd most prevelant cancer in the UK.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Thank You.
