Hi Everyone, thanks so much for making the effort to stop by my just giving page!

I may have spoken to many of you already in person but I'd like to give a brief picture on the chosen charity.

"Future for Nepal" is a small charity founded as recently as 2004 by an ex-Durham student named Thomas Wells. The aim of this charity has always been to simply give the children of Nepal a better start in life. From the website:

"The charity's aim is to provide children not only with a good education, but also a safe environment where all the needs of a child are provided for."

Apart from co-leading the expedition and working closely with Prerana Thapa (the charity coordinator), the role I will be taking will be spending 14 days in a Nepali community aiding to teach the children living there.

With only 29% of Nepalese children having access to primary education, FFN sponsors 30 children on a day and boarding basis to study at Alpha (a private English medium school in Kathmandu). Donated money will most likely go to the "prayas" centre; an organisation set up in 2007 as part of the charity primarily to improve the welfare of street children of the local area who have fallen victim to drug addiction.

Finally, the plea... Please dig deep! JustGiving is one of the most secure ways to donate money online to a charity. Should you want any more details about the charity or my involvement please don't hesitate to contact me or even visit the page itself!:
