Story
Hi, I'm Chris,
On Friday 27th September 2013 my friend Ali and I set off for Mount Everest.. our mission... to reach Base Camp on foot!
Our adventure will begin at Lukla, where we will trek to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. We will then acclimatise to the altitude, following a trail across numerous rivers.
Our trek leads gradually uphill from Thyangboche, where we will reach a highpoint at Kalapathar (5,545m) with breathtaking panoramic views including of course Mount Everest! Having completed the challenge (hopefully!), we will explore the city of Kathmandu with it's many temples and bazaars!
Ali and I are both completing this trek as a 'personal challenge' however many of our friends have asked if they can support us in some small way!
I have therefore come up with the following 2 suggestions...
1/ ... Come hike with me or join my spin class during my training regime!....
2/ ... Donate a few pennies to Wildlife Aid Foundation!
WAF does great work rehabilitating injured wild animals and sending them back out to where they should be...
We all care for our own pets at home but who cares for animals who don't have someone to care for them?... WAF does!
Many wild animals are born in the spring and 'orphan season' is WAF's busiest time so they need all the help they can get!
P.S... Don't forget to follow my blog on the WAF website!
Take care out there, Chris
.
