Grove House day hospice provides free specialist care and support to people in St Albans, Harpenden and Dacorum whose lives are affected by cancer or another life-threatening illness. 

Running the Seville Marathon

Running a marathon is a personal challenge for me. I started running in August 2008, the week Hugo was born, and gradually I've got fitter and managed run longer distances. On Sunday 14 February I'm attempting to run my first marathon - the XXVI Maratón Ciudad de Sevilla.

Grove House are a very active charity and amongst other things they organise the Harpenden 10k race which is a great race for a great cause. I've run the race twice now but so far I've not raised funds for them by getting myself sponsored. Now that I face the massive challenge of running a full marathon I'd like to make amends by raising a decent amount of sponsorship for them. My goal is to raise £500.

Knowing that I am running for a good cause like Grove House will I hope help keep me going and get me to the finish line!!!
