We support homeless LGBTQ+ young people to ensure they're safe and supported

Story

This will be my fourth time running the Great Manchester 10K to raise money for The Albert Kennedy Trust. AKT are an amazing charity, who for nearly 30 years have worked hard to support vulnerable young LGBT people facing homelessness. Right now there is a homelessness crisis, and AKT's own research shows that as many as 1 in 4 homeless people aged 16-25 may be LGBT.

Therefore, the work that AKT do has never been more important, which is why I'm proud to be running to raise money for them again this year. Please give whatever you can - all donations will be gratefully received by AKT, and will go towards helping turn around the lives of young LGBT people in crisis.

Coming out, or being outed as LGBTQ+ can lead to young people being made homeless. This is the reality for 77% of the young people akt supports. We proudly offer safe homes and better futures for LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25.
