Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. On the 21st of January, Mariepi and I are departing to climb Kilimanjaro. If that wasn't hard enough, to make the trip even more challenging we have decided to embark on a tough training schedule of eating and drinking excessively (Those of you who know us well can vouch for our honesty). We decided to pay for the trip to Kili ourselves and not do it via a charity place, because it was something we’ve always wanted to achieve. As many of you are aware in February we are heading off on a 6 month sabbatical in Ethiopia. Whilst in Ethiopia, we will be living and working in the city of Gonder. Mariepi will be working in the local hospital and teaching a Masters programme in clinical care and I will be working at local schools or at the University of Gonder. As we are going to be spending 6 months in Gonder we thought climbing Kilimanjaro would be a good opportunity to raise some money for a local charity. We have decided to raise money for Link Ethiopia, a UK registered charity. Link Ethiopia was established in 1996 to provide access to quality education for children aged 7-18 in Gonder, with a broader aim to empowering people to lift themselves and their communities out of poverty. You can find out more about their good work on

Any donations would be extremely welcome and would make a huge difference Thanks Chris & Mariepi Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
