Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Christopher was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour in September 2004 aged just 19 and on the brink of starting a new phase of his life at University. For two years Chris fought this dreadful disease bravely and without complaint before passing away on October 12th 2006, 12 days after his 21st birthday. The fact that Chris survived two years and was able to enjoy his life right up to the last few weeks, was due to the excellent care he received from the Leeds Childrens Oncology unit at St James Hospital and his neuro-surgeon at Leeds Infirmary. He also benefited from the best treatment available at the time. There is however much more research needed into the treatment of Brain Tumours and Andreas Gift is a charity dedicated to raising money for this purpose within Yorkshire. The Great North Run is taking place this year on 30th September, which is Chris's birthday, so there is no better time for me to get fit and run for him. So please sponsor me and help raise much needed funds for this important cause; let's really make a difference!. Many thanks for your support Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Andrea's Gift will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
