My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

140 miles from Whitehaven to South Shields completed in one day! I had to add in an extra 100 mile ride the day before to get to the start from where we stayed in the Dales, just for fun, you didn't have to sponsor me for that. The weather on the day was good enough, sunny in the morning, and it only rained on us over lunch! We did end up having to do a little diversion around Newcastle as there was a big pop festival going on right in the centre across the cycle path. Unfortunately I, and a few others were too far ahead to get warning of this, and ended up negotiating the crowds, and then having to go south through the Tyne tunnel and getting lost trying to follow route 14 into South Shields. We all got to the sea, just in three different places!

You can still donate for my ride. On the day we did it a tropical storm swept through Guatamala City causing floods and mudslides and leaving another 64 000 people homeless, so the need is a great as ever if not greater!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
