Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last April, in a moment of madness, I decided to sign up for the 2010 London marathon, having last run any distance in my annual school steeplechase over 30 years ago (I seem to remember finishing the race, and there may even have been one or two stragglers behind me)... And so I took my first faltering steps into the previously unfamiliar world of early morning training, high energy gels and 'technical compression undergarments'... Eight months in, and I'm still training for the big day. The running seems to be getting a bit easier, though the early mornings are still tough.
Whilst my initial decision may have been 'madness', there is a definite method to the charity I am running for. Scope is the UK's leading disability charity working with children and adults with cerebral palsy. Scope's aim is that disabled people achieve equality: a society in which they are as valued, and have the same human and civil rights as everyone else. The money raised from the 2010 London marathon will allow Scope to continue running their vital services, which are designed to support disabled people in every aspect of their lives from birth through to adulthood.
