On 26th October 2011 I will reach the grand old age of 40, and I wanted to do something a little bit different to 'celebrate/commiserate'.
In order to combine the things I have loved doing for the past 40 years, I decided to arrange a football match to be played at the home of the other love of my life, Barnsley FC! Unfortunately we cannot use the main pitch but they have kindly allowed us to use the artificial turf with 1000 seater Grandstand!!!! There will be a number of wyas in which you can donate including donating in relation to numbers of goals, scored, numbers of injuries the old men pick up or simply donating for playing or watching! A multitude of talents will be on display, but not necessarily of the fooballing kind!
THE DAY HAS ARRIVED - 12/11/2011 - 1330hours kick off!!!! Bring your money, raffle and crossbar challenge!
Please support this worthy cause, Barnsley Hospice, who looked after my cousin, Bev Rowe, when she prematurely passed away suffering from Cancer and who are also my local charity. I am sure you will agree it is for a good cause and hope you can give a little in these times of hardship for us all. This page is in memory of all those who we know who have been lost prematurely!Never forgotten.
