Thank you so much for donating to Help for Heroes. As many of you know, I spent 10 years serving in the Army during the 80's where most of the time our biggest concern was whether we would win the Army Rugby Cup or not!

Clearly, times have changed and our young men and women today are asked to do much more in the service of their country: indeed, as I write, I have just heard of the recent death of a soldier from my old Regiment in Afghanistan.

Help For Heroes, run by an old Army friend, Bryn Parry, has done a magnificent job of raising money to help rehabilitate these gallant men and women who have been terribly wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. It means a great deal to me that you have chosen to donate to this incredibly worthy cause.

I look forward to a great night on the 5th.
