The Prince's Trust Palace to Palace 2016 · 2 October 2016 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Myself and over 250 people from my employer, Capgemini, are taking part in the Palace to Palace ride on the 2nd of October. We are raising money for the Prince's Trust, a charity that gives young people the opportunity to unlock their potential by helping them find jobs, get funding for training or learning or even start a business. You can find more at this link:

I have been training hard up to this point, upping the volume I am able to do, but the motivation of sponsorship for a good cause would make it that much easier on those 4 hour rides.

Here is the breakdown of distance ridden per week (plus additional time on a stationary bike):

  • Week 1: 78.5km
  • Week 2: 215.5km
  • Week 3: 138.0km
  • Week 4: 198.6km
  • Week 5: 178.5km

My rides can be seen here: https://www.strava.com/athletes/749082/training/log

With just over a month to go, I will be upping the distance per week and aim to peak at over 250km/week. I am determined that to deserve your sponsorship I need to do more than just complete the ride, so anything you can give to help disadvantaged young people will help me push on to make that happen.

Thank you for reading this, and any small amount you can give would be incredible.
