I am part of a six person strong team from the paediatric critical care unit at the Royal London Hospital who are undertaking a week long charity event to raise money for parents accomodation.
I am raising money for a fantastic charity, the Sick Children's Trust, who provide home from home accommodation for parents of sick children at the hospital so that they can be near to them during their stay in intensive care. As many children are admitted from far away, without the sick childrens trust (Stevenson House) parents would have to spend time and energy finding alternative accomodation near the hospital at a time when they are extremely stressed.
On the 10th April I will set off to Norway to begin the biggest challenge I have ever undertaken!! For a week myself and the team will be self sufficient as we travel 250km to the finishing line with a team of huskys and tents. Camping in the extreme cold is certainly not something I am looking forward to, and I hope the dogs listen to my instructions as well on the way! Physically this will also be hard, as the dogs cannot pull the sled up hill, so Ive been working hard to build up my strength to push the kit uphill!!! The first flushing toilet and shower on my return back will also be a treat........!
Please help to support this amazing cause by sponsoring me today and help the sick children's trust continue their amazing and invaluable work at the Royal London Hospital.
