Story

Hi All

In the week between Christmas and New Year, exact day still to be decided, I am going to complete a 30 mile walk from my home address in Middlesbrough to the historic seaside town of Whitby. The reason I'm doing this mad thing? Well, the six-month old baby son of friends and neighbours of mine is fighting for his life. Up until a few days ago he needed a new heart, but thankfully a donor heart has been found and now he's on the long road to recovery. I am hoping that you can sponsor me on my walk so that we can support Ted (nicknamed Super Ted because of the brave fight he's put up in recent months) and the unit at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, that is caring for him and the four other children they have awaiting heart transplants.

To learn more about what Baby Ted has been through, please follow the attached link to a local newspaper article:

I'll be completing the walk with my brother, and just to give you a flavour of the challenge we've set ourselves, our personal best walk to-date covered only 15 miles - half the distance we've now set ourselves! Our Kid couldn’t walk for 2 days after that little stroll…

If you'd like to support Baby Ted and the Freeman hospital please donate through JustGiving. It is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Also, if you are a Santander employee, make it clear when donating as they may match what I collect from you.

Thank you

Christian
