When I decided to climb Kilimanjaro it started out as a whim - sounded cool and different from the usual booze binge in the sun holidays normally become. It has since progressed to become so much more.

I have started to question what my fascination with conquering the highest point of the least industrialized continent in the world is and come to realize it is a way for me to experience the exact opposite of my day to day life - experience nature to its rawest and fullest, the way it has been since time immemorial. In my mind there is no better image of that primitive raw power that has captivated human minds with each thunder and lightning than a big cat roaring on top of a mountain.

Many believe that in our lifetime, iconic species like tigers, snow leopards, and lions will simply disappear from the wild. Panthera, however, envisions a world where tigers will live forever, snow leopards will be seen peering down snow-covered rock outcrops, and lions will always move across the African savannahs. By supporting Panthera you will help them further their ambition to ultimately nothing less than save all wild cat species across their ranges, and do so in a scientifically rigorous and sustainable manner.
