Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

RAISING FUNDS FOR FINN

As a parent and friend of Jo and Paul's (Finn's parents) I felt that as well as the support already provided I needed to do more to raise awareness of Finns condition and to raise funds for a cure into this type of cancer . I am attempting a triathalon on 4th September 2011 to raise money for Finns Fund./Chris Lucas Trust. The triathalon is 200m swim, 20km cycle and 2.5km run and a very big personal challenge for me as I am not an athlete!!!!

Please read Finns story as told by him from his page @ Finnsfund.co.uk

"My name is Finn Patrick Middleton. I am 5 years old and I love dancing and pretending to be a rock star. I have a big brother called Jacob who is 9 and we used to play on our trampoline, go swimming, have friends round to play and go on holiday. But all that has stopped now."

This is the cancer Finn has ...........

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare and aggressive childhood cancer with a high chance of recurrence after treatment. It is a disease in which malignant cancer cells begin growing anywhere in the body. Rhabdomyosarcoma accounts for approximately 3.5% of the cases of cancer among young children 0-14 years. For the parents of and children in that 3.5% it is devastating news. Over the years there has been very little research into this cancer and it is with thanks to the ‘Chris Lucas Trust’ that there are now 2 scientists based at the Institute for Cancer Research, who are studying solely Rhabdomyosarcoma in the hope of finding a cure. This research costs £100,000.00 per year.

I hope you can help by making a donation to help Finn and his family fight this cancer and to find a cure.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you

Christine

I completed the Triathlon on Sunday 4th September and did not come last !!!!! see photos of the event above. A very big thank you to all my supporters on the day and to everyone who has donated for Finn xxxxx
