At the beginning of April, I'm travelling to Kenya with a team from Wheels for the World, the overseas arm of Through the Roof, a Christian Charity that supports disabled people.

There's nine of us going to Kimilili, headed up by Eileen who's been there several times before. We're on a wheelchair distribution delivering wheelchairs to people with severe mobility problems who in no way could afford to buy their own. I've done this once before in 2007 on a distribution to Ghana (see photo) and it was a wonderful and humbling experience. I've been to Kenya before and am delighted to be doing a distribution with Wheels for the World there.

Each of us pays our own way for flights and accommodation, travel and food, but of course the costs of freighting the repaired wheelchairs are high (they arrived a couple of weeks ago!) So anything I can raise through this Justgiving page towards those costs will be very much welcomed by the charity!
