Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are fundraising for The Friends of the Wisdom Hospice through a charity challenge company, Discover Adventure.

Many thanks to everyone that has supported us! We have blown our target out of the water!

We will be doing a presentation at St Williams Church at 7.30 on 20 August - so people can see us looking like drowned rats! THANKS EVERYONE!

Christine and Jeanette will be braving the Seven Seas in July 2011 (well, the Channel Islands at least!) in memory of our wonderful and deeply missed Mum, Joyce. For 4 days, we will be part of an intrepid crew, working and sailing a classic 46ft yawl racing boat and taking on all the elements that Mother Nature can throw at us!

April 2011 marks the 10th Anniversary of our Mum's sad death to Cancer. Mum was cared for at the Wisdom Hospice by some truly amazing people and the Hospice was a special place for Mum - one she had previously fundraised lots of money for, following the death of a close friend. Christine and Jeanette are taking on this charity challenge in memory of Mum and in celebration of her life. This will be a true challenge and an adventure with mixed emotions and ups and downs and we would be truly grateful to anyone who would like to sponsor our fundraising efforts and help continue the work of the Wisdom Hospice.

We are also organising some fundraising events and would love to see you there. Please keep your eyes open for details ... coming soon to a web page near you!

We will share photographic evidence of our time at sea - in all its glory!

A huge thank you and big hugs in advance from Christine and Jeanette (the one who would be Captain and her first mate!) xxx

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
