We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

I was invited to join the sanofi inspires challenge team to help co-ordinate activities that will raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

After seeing video footage of kids who's been treated in specialist units provided by the Trust, I was completely inspired to go and do something myself in aid of this great charity.

On 22nd June, I'm doing a 60mile bike ride from Oxford (Genzyme offices) to Guildford (Sanofi HQ). Normally this wouldn't phase me but as the weather has been so shite up to now, training rides have been few and far between... although we've had great, social rides when we have been able to get out.

Last Sunday, the weather was kind enough to allow for a 60mile ride-out to Maldon, which was bloody lovely and we had a great bacon sandwich at Roundbush, just past Cock Clarkes!

Spare a few pence sir?

I regularly swim 1.5km of a morning but I've never swum anything more than that...... but that is about to change. At this point, I have no idea if I will be able to do it.... but that's part of my challenge. I will make sure that I do it!
