Wow! Thanks so much for the support and donations so far. I completed Cardiff in 1hr 56 mins, 4mins 22 secs behind Gareth although he will tell you he was 5 minutes in front.

There is another half marathon race from Conwy castle on 8th November. It's a fairly flat route apart from the bit that goes up the Great Orme. If I can get to £300 before the closing date I'll run that one too!

For those of you who haven't heard me mention the Nicola Fund, and there can't be many, a bit of explanation.

Nicola's Fund is a local charity based in Rossett, Wrexham. The charity supports children and their families affected by cancer. The charity was inspired by Nicola who died from cancer age fifteen. It was Nicola's wish to help other children and her savings were used to start the fund. The fund is run entirely by volunteers so everything you donate provides support where it is needed most.

I was particularly inspired to try and raise some money by a young lady call Hannah who spoke at the charity's Summer Ball in June 2009. Hannah had experienced support from the fund and her speech was amazing. Talk about motivational!

So on 18th October at the ripe old age of ** and with the assistance of lots of Vaseline and Compeed I'll be chasing my husband and a few hundred others for 13.1 miles.
