Christmas is the time for which we look forward to spending with friends and family. However, for many older people, they dread the onset of the cold and dark winter days. Health can deteriorate for older people in winter and The Whittington Hospital sees a rise in elderly admissions around this time, every year.

 

Over Christmas, our staff try to make the elderly care wards as festive as possible and make lots of efforts to celebrate the season for the elderly patients who have to stay in over the Christmas period.

 

However, any donations to make this time more comfortable towards such items as the purchase of small presents for lone older people staying on the wards, or anything towards our wider appeal for the elderly care wards to improve medical equipment and  patient facilities, would be very much appreciated.
