My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We love a good charity challenge here at Lancaster House, and we especially love a small, hard-working charity that deserves & desperately needs funding to help continue their great work.
Inspired by the Olympics and the Diamond Birthday celebrations of English Lakes Hotels, we're doing our very own relay. But this time with a Christmas Cracker as our "Torch" which we're taking on a grand-tour of all 6 of the Hotels in our family-owned company before finally delivering it to Primrose House later on that day.
Starting at 6am on the 18th of December, a team of 14 runners will each take their turn running a section of the 60 mile route from the Waterhead in Ambleside to the Low Wood, Wild Boar (Crook), Storrs Hall (Bowness), Lancaster House (Lancaster), The Midland (Morecambe) and finally arriving at Primrose House in Middleton, hopefully 11 hours later.
It will be cold, dark and incredibly difficult. The roads will be undulating, twisting and unforgiving through the Lakes and North Lancashire. But, we never fail with our challenges and we WILL get the cracker from Ambleside to Middleton in one day. But we want to deliver more than just a cracker! We want to help this charity, who, in this their 25th (and most financially challenging) year, continue to carry on their amazing work helping severely disabled young adults lead a life in the "real world".

Well, the official "reccy" of the route is now complete! Also, we're just sending out the Press Releases. So, fingers crossed, that'll help us get more donators!
Training is underway and so far we have over 10 volunteers to do the run. We are in the process of getting some tips from Nick - Duty Manager in the Sandpiper Leisure Club for cardio training & these will be posted in due course. Dig deep everyone - every penny counts. Thank You
