<p>You would think that being 8 years older,&nbsp;15 kgs heavier,&nbsp;parent to 3 kids&nbsp;and having undergone double herniated-disc surgery since my last attempt (unsuccessful I might add)&nbsp;to complete a marathon, I would be wise enough to never make another attempt.&nbsp; Then again, I have never been accused of being wise, mature&nbsp;or thoughtful.&nbsp; Not to mention that with&nbsp;a wife who finished 3rd at 2011 Budapest Marathon, I have no chance of ever having bragging rights at home.</p> <p>Despite all that, I am now training for the 2012 Virgin London Marathon and determined to cross the finish line even if my 3 children have to drag me the final mile while I sob uncontrollably and bizarrely recite Homers The Odyssey in Russian.</p> <p>I am raising funds for charity ZSL - The London Zoo.&nbsp; My family are annual members and we strongly believe in the work ZSL do for animal wellfare, research and kids education.</p> <p>Your donation is greatly appreciated!!!!</p>
