Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 30 Sep 2008, the day I was due to deploy to Afghanistan, Joanne's foal Storm became ill very quickly and died the same day.  The cause was Grass Sickness which is a terrible illness that attacks the stomachs in Horses.  Currently there is no cure and extensive work is going on to find out more about the disease and then to find a treatment.

In Storm's memory and honour I will be cycling and running the 3 Peaks of the UK (Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis) in under 72Hrs.  The money raised from this event will go towards the Equine Grass Sickness Charity.  This raises money for research to find a cure and recently there has been a development of a vaccine and any money raised will contribute towards trials of this, so fingers crossed this can provide a solution. Hopefully one day this will prevent the horrific event that happened to us from happening to anyone else.

The challenge will be to cycle 740K and run up and down the 3 mountains in under 3 days, averaging 200 miles cycling a day plus running up and down a mountain.  This will begin on the 11 Jun and we should be complete by the end of 13 Jun .  It is certainly not going to be easy!!
