Art in hospitals contributes to creating an environment and atmosphere where patients can feel safe, socialize, maintain a connection to the world  outside the hospital and support their identity. This is not a new concept indeed in 1859 Florence Nightingale recognised the importance of art in medicine and raised issues that are still relevant today.

The money donated will go towards supporting setting up a gallery in the Trust for local artists to display their art,  music and literary events for patients plus raise money for pieces of art such as a memorial tree for patients in our garden of peace and hope here at the QEH.
