The 2009 Freshnlo Great Scottish Run 10k · 6 September 2009

Global Justice Now is a democratic social justice organisation working as part of a global movement to create a more just and equal world. We mobilise people in the UK for change, and act in solidarity with those fighting injustice.

Story

Hello,

On Sunday 6th September, we will run the 2009 Freshnlo Great Scottish Run, 10k.

We have chosen to raise funds for the World Development Movement (WDM), an organisation that campaigns to tackle the root causes of poverty, by lobbying governments and companies to change the policies that keep people poor.

This is not a very well-known organisation but they do an awful lot of good through their campaigning activities.

Over the years WDM has scored many campaign victories in their fight for justice for the world's poor; from helping the poorest countries in the world get their unfair debts cancelled, campaigning for fair trade and against undemocratic trade deals, to fighting the case for affordable water for all.

For example, WDM was a founding member of the Fairtrade foundation, the Jubilee Debt campaign, the Trade Justice Movement and more recently Make Poverty History.

For more information on WDM's current campaigns, log on to www.wdm.org.uk

Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

So please donate now.
