A little update... we've managed to rope dad into signing up to come play up Machu Picchu with us, which will be awesome, but also more expensive - hence the increase in the amount we have to raise!!!
As most of you probably know, Shona and I started raising money for MND Scotland last year after the wonderful Mother McAdam was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in April 2010. Motor Neurone Disease destroys the motor nerves in the body and can cause paralysis, impaired speech, and difficulties with eating and drinking. There is no cure for motor neurone disease and sadly we lost our mum in November 2011.
In Sept 2012 Dad, Shona and i will be taking part in the 6 day Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru!! A little adventurous to say the least (i believe its a lot of miles long), particulary for a family who much prefer to be sat on the sofa with wine and sweeties than trekking up hills in the wilderness... but anyway, we're doing it so we need your help. The minimum fundraising for this event is £3800 each, hence our target of £11,400 Without this money we wont be allowed to go play.
We don't expect this money for nothing (though that would be lovely!!) so we'll be organising various fundraising events over the course of the year, and also taking part in some challenges of our own, all in order to raise pennies and awareness for MND Scotland which will result in us up a hill, in peru, with a bunch of llamas (hopefully!)

We've now successfully completed our half marathon and Clair has completed an abseil down the forth rail bridge!!! Thanks to everyone who sponsored us for these events - it made it totally worthwhile!
We're currently planning some fundraising events, which you can find details of on our blog. As always any donations will be much appreciated, no matter how small. so please dig deep and help us support this amazing charity who not only provide support for our family, but also for many other families around Scotland whose lives are also affected by MND.
