Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In a previous professional life (last year) I had the privelige of working with clinicians at the University Hospital Birmingham, who treat all of our soldiers returning from tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. These heroes often returned with multiple limbs missing and the clinicians would have to strive to save lives on a daily basis. It was not only distressing to experience this, but humbling to see how the clinicians would work relentlessly to save a life or a limb - and more so to see the determination and pragmatic approaches of these heroes. I'm constantly inspired to see so many of these guys -heroes - without legs or arms, crossing continents and climbing mountains.
The work of this charity helps to keep this work going and helps in the rehabilition of these heroes.
When I decided to take on the Ironman challenge - a 140 mile triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and then run a marathon - hopefully within 12-14 hours) it was a natural decision to use this very personal challenge as an opportunity to raise money for this amazing charity. So I ask you please to dig deep and pledge a little to this cause, that helps these heroes regain their lives.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you so much for reading so far and I hope that I've inspired you to donate to something that I feel so passionate about.
