Nine years ago I lost my amazing Grandad to throat cancer. Cancer really doesn't care who it takes into its clutches and he fought a good fight but in the end the illness won.

The Macmillan nurses supported him and my family through a very difficult time, and they made his time in the hospice comfortable, and for us it was like visiting him at home.

At npower, Macmillan are our charity partner and this year we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary of supporting them. Out of the 10 challenges on offer this one appealed to me the most. A 21 mile row on Lake Windemere, it will be tough, but extremely rewarding, I'll have worked hard for them as they do for families every day.
