UPDATE !!!
I made it, the swim and bike were ok but oh god the run, the hottest day of the year and no shade. I literally crawled to the finish line, so don't expect any good photos. 1.53 a time I am extremely proud of and well inside my private target of 2 hours. I don't think the Olympics will come calling, but 4 months ago I couldn't run to the end of the road.
Thanks for all the good luck messages and support.

As most people know, about 2 years ago our beautiful daughter Alice was diagnosed as profoundly deaf. After a rollercoaster of emotions and fear, she had a cochlear implant this time last year to help her hear.
During this journey, we met the therapists at AV in Oxford. They have managed to turn our despair to hope and are helping us to realise that Alice can learn to talk and listen just like her peers. AV is a small charity but their work is amazing. Profoundly deaf children graduate from AV with amazing stories of above average literacy and mainstream schooling, things that we dearly wish for Alice. AV therapy is not provided by the NHS, but its benefits are huge, I'm hoping to raise some money to allow them to increase the number of children that they can help. I'm a hopeless runner, can just about manage the cycle to the station some mornings and I can swim a bit, what on god's earth i am doing considering a run after swimming and biking ..... some people just aren't built for that sort of thing. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
