It's that time of year again. The Douglas/Sweeney household is going into daft physical challenge season.
On Saturday June 11th we'll be taking part in the 2011 Swaledale Marathon. The route passes through some of the finest scenery in the Yorkshire Dales. The 23 mile course is a fell run and challenge walk event and competitors must navigate themselves across open moor and complete the course within 10 hours. I'll be walking, or should I say marching, the course along with two wonderful neighbours. Sean will be running the course with another neighbour.
I've been training for months, involving swimming, marching Sean up and down the hills of the Dales, Moors, The Cheviots and the South West Coastal Path and cycling. I'm determined to complete the course in around 8 hours. Oh, I forgot to add that there is 4,000 feet of ascent along the route. All in all a good day out on the hills.
I'd love it if you could help me to raise some money to support the brilliant programmes run by Jessie's Fund. They bring so much tangible value to children with complex health, physical, emotional, behavioural and learning needs.
