Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 2017 · 8 October 2017 ·

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 08 October 2017 in support of Deborah James (@bowelbabe), a family friend and school mate of mine. I generally run short distances...fairly quickly and with a ball & stick... I have never run this far before so it will be quite a challenge but nothing like the challenge Debbie is facing...

Deborah was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer just before Christmas and has made it her goal to beat the disease whilst raising awareness because it can hit anyone regardless of your health and age. Deborah is otherwise extremely fit & healthy and very young (we were born a few days apart!)

Whilst dealing with all the medical side of things and undergoing several major operations and chemo, Deborah is working with Bowel Cancer UK on their "Never too Young" Campaign.

Check out Deborah's ongoing blog:

It is truly inspiring and gaining a lot of interest.

Many thanks,

Claire
