Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This October, I will be joining Bryan Robson and team to climb Kilimanjaro.

The trek involves 7 days on the mountain, 5 & 1/2 days ascending and 1 & 1/2 days coming back down.  At 5,895m (1,941 ft) it is the tallest mountain in Africa and the tallest free standing mountain in the world.

We will be climbing through 5 different climate zones from the warm savannah, through wet rainforest and then up above the treeline into cold barren deserts.  Temperatures will range from +25oC at base to -20oC at the summit.  We will be walking between 6-8 hours most days and 16-18 hours on the final summit day.

Why am i doing this you may ask yourself (and a question i keep asking myself since signing up)...quite simply to raise money to support the fantastic work the Manchester United Foundation do.

You do not need to be a Manchester United supporter to appreciate the work the Foundation do using football to improve the lives of young people.

Any donation, no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Claire
