Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I did it!!! I ran all the way, completing the 10 miles in 1 hour and 39 minutes. I really enjoyed it, the last couple of miles along the sea front were tough running against the wind but I managed it. I'm a bit achey and tired but otherwise good!
It was a fab day, made better by friends and family coming along to cheer me on and meeting others also supporting Batten's disease.
The weather was good, no rain and even a bit of sunshine, so a big thank you to everyone who wished for fair weather along with generous donations! If you haven't got around to sponsoring me, don't worry this page will be active for a couple of months yet.

Having been running rather leisurely for a couple of years I have decided to enter the Great South at the end of October. I have done a couple of 10k in preparation already and I am looking forward to the challenge of Europe's fastest road race along with 21,000 other people. Although I am told it always rains and I'm a fair weather runner!
I have chosen to run for the BDFA to raise awareness of Batten's disease (click on link to the left for more info) which affects my 8 year old nephew Max (on the right in the picture with his brother, sister and cousins).
By sponsoring me you will help facilitate research in the hope that one day soon a cure will be found.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you!!!

My race pack and number have arrived this week. With just 3 weeks to go I am beginning to feel a bit nervous! All of the generous donations are really motivating, the sponsorship and kind messages (well, most of them are!) makes getting up in the dark for the early morning training much, much easier.
A few people have asked if they can donate in the traditional way, that is absolutely fine, just let me know how much you would like to pledge and I can add it to the total on the JustGiving page and collect cash/cheques later.
So a huge THANK YOU! to all of you who have already contributed and to those of you who haven't, please, please pledge what you can to help me raise lots more money for Batten's disease.
