Brentwood Half Marathon · 23 March 2014

Every week in the UK, around two families are told their child has neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. We fund leading research projects to deliver new, effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. With your help we can save more young lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running as part of a team called Lily's Legends (team page is linked to this one) who are trying to raise support for and awareness of neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer affecting young children.

Lily was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in August 2013 when she was 20 months old.  She is now on a 3-month treatment plan and is expected to recover because her condition was spotted early.  However, as neuroblastoma is such an aggressive cancer, it is often not diagnosed until it's too late.  This is why the work of The Neuroblastoma Society is so important to raise awareness of this condition and to make sure that parents and carers know what signs to look for.

I've never done a running competition before so I'm throwing myself in the deep end!  All of your support is greatly appreciated :-)
