SOS Africa is a UK based grassroots child sponsorship organisation which invests 100% of your donation in the education and care of African children. Since 2003 we have provided disadvantaged children with holistic education programmes tailored to their needs to help them break the poverty cycle.

Story

On the morning of Friday 17th June, Rob Harrison, Mandy Jack, Colette Leleu, Sian Neilson, Claire Vivian, Rose Williams and Anna Zasheva  from ISS will be abseiling 150ft from Kilvey hall of residence on Swansea University campus.

We are doing this for SOS Africa and the Swansea-Siavonga partnership, two charities founded at the university. Our target is £300. Please help us reach this!

More about the charities:

SOS Africa is a grass roots organisation which funds the education and care of African township children. It is a scholarship scheme which empowers local children through education. The scheme aims to provide these children with a holistic education programme including school tuition, after-school care and mentoring, school clothing, equipment and transportation.

The Swansea – Siavonga Partnership is a not for profit partnership between two charitable organisations, Discovery Student Volunteering in Swansea and the Siavonga Nutrition Group based in Siavonga, Zambia. Its aims include to:
- Develop existing Sustainability Projects and secure funding for more
- Deliver workshops on Disability issues within Siavonga and alter public perceptions held there
-Create more school links
-Induct more students into our Scholarship Scheme
-Get our existing scholarship beneficiaries into university.
