<p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #3366ff; font-size: 11.5pt;">Hi </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #3366ff; font-size: 11.5pt;">Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #3366ff; font-size: 11.5pt;">As most of you know, I'm not the fittest of people but I've decided to swap my heels for my trainers and run the Bupa Great Manchester run on 20th May 2012.</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #3366ff; font-size: 11.5pt;">I am hoping to raise funds for two amazing charities; CHICs (Children's Cancer Support, Liverpool) and Claire House Children’s Hospice.</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #3366ff; font-size: 11.5pt;">Billy was 2 ½ when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on the 9th January 2009. We felt like our world had fallen apart.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He received chemotherapy, regular theatre trips for lumbar punctures and bone marrow biopsies, along with other procedures and unexpected admissions.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Throughout Billy's treatment, CHICs have been a great support to him and us. He has been able to attend most events and has made many friends. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #3366ff; font-size: 11.5pt;">CHICs was formed in 1986 and offer support to patients (no matter what age they are), their siblings and their families. They provide free help and advice to those affected by cancer, they also arrange many activities, ranging from days out, trips to the theatre, weekends away and Easter and Christmas parties. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #ff0000; font-size: 11.5pt;">During Billy’s treatment we met a special little boy, Elliot Wild, Liverpool F.C’s biggest supporter. Elliot was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2009. Billy and Elliot (Finley and Emily) would play together during their visits to Alder Hey and at each others houses too.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #ff0000; font-size: 11.5pt;">On the 23rd March 2011 Elliot passed away aged 9 years following 2yrs of bravely fighting the childhood cancer. During his last few weeks he visited Claire House regularly before being admitted.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: &amp;quot;Arial&amp;quot;,&amp;quot;sans-serif&amp;quot;; color: #ff0000; font-size: 11.5pt;">Claire House is a 10 bed hospice for children (aged 0-23 years) with life limiting, life threatening conditions and caring for terminally ill patients. In addition, they also focus on the needs of the whole family, providing bereavement and other support for as long as it is needed. <br>Claire House need to raise in excess of £2.5 million each year with no guarantee of government funding.</span></p>
