Please note that there are now no more places for the speed-dating activity, so please just come to be fashionable and mingle, leave a donation of any amount here and if you are up for the speeding then I can happily put you on the reserve list. There will be plenty of help needed with bell-ringing every three minutes too!
Springs Dance Company is a Christian organisation committed to harnessing dance to see positive change in society. We are currently fundraising to take an education project called Five a Day to young people in inner city areas. Created in response to the unprecedented rise in knife crime and youth-on-youth violence on London's streets last year, this project provides positive role models and inspires positive choices for the future. Hard-hitting theatre speaks to hard-to-reach youths, and we need your help to take it to areas that may not otherwise have access to this life-changing work. With your support on November 2nd, we can make a difference in people's lives!
Location - 7pm at the The Abbey bar in Victoria, (www.theabbeyvictoria.com). I've hired the whole of the upstairs part and there's easy access to a bar (should you need some extra courage!). The Abbey is ideally located 2 mins from St. James Park tube station and 10 mins from Victoria and Westminster tube stations.
If you haven't tried speed dating before; the night consists of 10-15 3 minute 'dates' which everyone scores anonymously (date/friend/nope!!!). Afterwards I'll send out details of any matches by email. The night will be really light-hearted and fun, plus you'll be raising money for a good cause. If you're not single but still want to come, please do come along for some drinks and donating and you can help me ring the bell every 3 minutes too ;-) You will add to overall buzzy vibe of charitable mingling!
Suggested donation is only £12 and every penny goes to Springs Dance Company. Places are limited to 20 boys and 20 girls and its first come first served.. so get your ticket early. When you make your donation here, for your note, instead of a "Run Forest Run" type message, please put "1m" if you want one boys place, and "1f" if you want one girls place, or "4m" or "4f" if you want to book lots of places!
Please please tell your friends/colleagues/crushes and anyone you think might be interested.. even if you're not! Of course it's best if most people don't already know each other, so it would be great to get along friends of friends rather than just my friends.
