I will be taking to the skies on Saturday 15th June 2013 in March, Cambridgeshire with North London Skydiving Centre for an unbelievable but nerve-wracking experience. I will be throwing myself out of a plane at 14,000 feet...followed by freefall...then under parachute for 5,000 feet to raise money for a national registered children's charity, Country Holidays for Inner City Kids (CHICKS).

CHICKS provides free life enhancing respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK.  The children involved come from a variety of backgrounds - many live in poverty, been neglected or abused, have suffered a bereavement or are full time young carers for their parents and/or siblings.

I have recently volunteered on a CHICKS camp and I can truly say it was an incredible and emotional experience to meet such spirited, energetic and kind hearted children who would not normally get the opportunity to have a break but thanks to CHICKS they can create childhood memories, which will remain with them for the rest of their lives. 

I have had the priviledge to gain some insight into the world these children inhabit and I can certainly say it is true when CHICKS give children the chance to be children.  It was an amazing experience to watch them grow in confidence, conquer their fears and most importantly have fun during my time as a CHICKS volunteer.
