Story
I'll be running the BUPA 10,000 through central London on the Spring Bank Holiday. I'll be attempting to run hard whilst gazing at London landmarks, and of course I'll be hoping to raise money for a deserving charity.
My run will hopefully raise money for Elizabeth Finn Care (EFC) http://www.elizabethfinncare.org.uk/ , a UK registered charity that assists people in the UK who have contributed professionally to society and now live in poverty. Founded in 1897 EFC today continues to provide financial support for almost 3,500 people, irrespective of age, disability, gender or religion. EFC's individual packages of financial and social support reduce vulnerability and isolation, allowing people greater control over their lives and independence.
Elizabeth Finn Care supports people who were once self-sufficient, but who have been overcome by circumstances, such as family breakdown, redundancy, injury, physical or mental illness. In the UK and Ireland, 4 million adults are eligible for this support. EFC's associated website Turn2us helps people in financial need access the money available to them through welfare benefits, grants and other financial help. It provides access to welfare benefits and grants through its comprehensive website (www.turn2us.org.uk) and helpline, which are free, confidential and independent. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for Elizabeth Finn Care. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I hope you will dig deep and sponsor me for Elizabeth Finn CareClaire.
